Would you be interested to try a short introductory course of 4 weeks covering basic Yoga and Pilates aimed at cyclists?
As the majority of group cyclists are men it will be designed with them in mind but women are definitely not excluded. Having had 30 plus years in the industry and instructing in Yoga and Pilates for 20 years I’m very aware men often feel these group sessions are not for them. I’ve heard it said by many, “I’m not flexible enough’ or ‘I’m not coordinated’ but that is exactly where this course will work for you! You work with the flexibility and coordination you have, maintain it and improve in these areas and others over time.
Yoga and Pilates aims to rebalance the body. Sitting on a bike holding a fairly fixed position for long periods of time, and additional activities such as sitting at a desk or in the car, limits ranges of movement which may lead to weaknesses is some muscle groups and aches and pains. To counterbalance these potential out comes, Yoga and Pilates will work on postural awareness, realign, strengthen, stretch and calm the body.
This course will explain the basics and aim to inspire for the future.
Depending on feedback, it will lead onto participants deciding to continue with a course combining the two disciplines or just one of them.
The course will run at ‘On the Brook” on Mondays 11th, 18th & 25th Nov and 2nd Dec, from 6.45pm to 8pm for £40. Call or text Jane on 07595 710609 for any queries or to express interest in attending.
