Meet at the more leisurely 9.15am Hive Bruton for coffee, for a prompt 9.30am depart this morning. Up Druly, then down to Mere, onto Motcombe, Shaftesbury and the lush resurfaced Zig Zag, then that’s pretty much all the climbing over and done with. Head past the airfield and down to Tarrant Gunville then straight on down to the other Tarrants before a R turn towards Blandford.

Cafe options include the Scented Botanist at Keyneston Mill, or the Black Cactus or Forum Cafe in Blandford.

Return via the North Dorset Trailway then up via Child Okeford, Fifehead, Wincanton back to Bruton.

14-16mph, 110km route with 1100m climb.
