Bakers Dozen AGAIN

Bakers Dozen AGAIN

We spread over 2 long tables to gather at the Chapel, not realising this was our last group ride for a while. The weather was clement and despite our goal events being cancelled left, right and centre, we ended up with a group of 13 heading out on the long route to Langport - this meant going via Wyke, Wraxall and Barton St David, before cutting back out onto the main road to Somerton. There we picked up the back lanes again through to Kitchen on the Wharf. They had hand gel ready and waiting for us mucky lot, and more cakes and pastries than you could shake a stick at.

Mr KL, Mr PT and Mr JM (the latter returning from a back injury), took the more direct route home, whilst the other 10 of us hit the A372, with some lush new tarmac, all the way to the Podimore. No need to unclip as we cruised through the lights on the A303 roundabout, and onward to the hills around Sutton Montis and the Cadbury’s. Mr RM and his visiting mates RC and MC headed back towards Gillingham from here, while others turned to Bruton. Chapeaux to Mr RM for getting in 100 miles today some solo, some en masse. So good to be out in the sun, on relatively dry roads.

Sunday brought the rain AGAIN, Zwift was busy!
