Spring....

A goodly group gathered on Saturday morning for the ups and downs route over to Sherborne - good to be joined by Mr NH from CCRCC, and Mr JG and Mr AO back from their snowy exploits. Mr KL was still a bit fatigued by the beasting he’d received from MsJP on a mid week outing, whilst trying to find a reasonable (i.e. not too hilly) route between Wells and Frome! So when Mr KL got a puncture a few miles into the ride he felt like bailing. Mr Trims helped out with the repair and the dynamic duo rolled into Bean Shot Sherborne not long after the main group. We were greeted by Mr PC sitting at the counter at Bean Shot, and he joined us for part of the ride home. Good to see such an excellent turn out and some sun too.

Sunday brought cloudy skies initially, and 5 riders heading in the direction of Cheddar, whilst Mr SC and PC trundled off to Seaton and back. Bit of a headwind out to Glasto, some chaingang work (helped out by a big bunch of CCRCC riders briefly through Wraxall) then onto the main road through Meare and out to Wedmore. Some showers at Cheddar so rain jackets on to start the climb, Mr TW first to the top all in the big chain ring, with Mr Trim 2nd and Mr GA on his second new bike in almost as many months coming in a close third. Dr L and Mr RM followed soon, and we all enjoyed the whizz down the Old Bristol Road and our fuel stop at Loaf Bakehouse. Mini Mr RM joined us here and we left him to drag his dad home through the lanes whilst the other 4 of us utilized the tail wind and pressed on back to Bruton for 1.30pm. Great to get out on the roads.
