Big Sunday outing
There were a few cyclists who wished they’d been true to their first passion, and thus pedalling on Saturday rather than watching hulks of men playing with funny shaped balls, but the weather was shocking so perhaps best that there was a distraction to keep us safe inside for the morning. No one was brave or stupid enough to battle the wind and rain this saturday.
Sunday brought brighter skies and a whole load of BCC riders out to Church Bridge for the 9am depart; some hadn’t sat on a saddle for 8 weeks or more, so the 62 mile round trip to Burnham On Sea was just what they needed. Head wind out, tail wind back, some detours off the flat lands on the way, but we made it to the causeway out to the waves, and got the obligatory photos before heading to the Corner Cafe, for generally speedy service of the fuel needed for the return journey. All stayed together back across the levels as far as Baltonsborough/Lottisham, then we all started to disperse in different directions to our respective homes. Great to have 10 out on a Sunday ride, and the weather did us proud.
