Lot's o' bike cleaning going on
Mist and murk, and a slippy descent down to On the Brook for the saturday ride out to Shearwater - some new bikes on display by Mr AF and Mrs HW (great to see you back on the road), not put off by the road conditions - don’t you just love the maize harvest time…. A farm sale on the way through to Maiden Bradley made our usually quiet little lanes somewhat busier than usual, but visiting rider Mr GH took is all in his very experienced stride. Shearwater Cafe had the as ever excellent choice of cakes and savouries for all to enjoy before the turn for home. Great numbers out today considering the more autumnal feel.
Sunday found 6 riders amassed on Church Bridge, perhaps a little late due to the lame excuse Glasto ticket purchasing. After consulting the weather apps, a ride down to Cerne Abbas was ditched, opting for a logical choice of Merriott to allow us a tail wind home. The 20mph head wind out was good training, and resulted in lots of chain gang work, initiating Mr AF (out trying his new bike - AGAIN) into the “Rules”. The Feed Station gave us their usual warm welcome, and a chance for a good fuel on bacon sarnies, sausage rolls and cake. Great to get the push home, and more chain gang meant everyone was back around 1pm. Great fun.
