A maiden voyage to Gillingham Newt

A maiden voyage to Gillingham Newt

The first ride of the New Year saw a healthy number gather at the Chapel, including a guest appearance from Alan (known to quite a few in the group!) , and offering moral support SE and ET still plagued by shoulder injuries - we hope to see them back on the bike soon!

No rain was a welcome change for the determined regulars and the early morning chill soon disappeared after the climb up Druley Hill where we were joined by LT on his first outing for some time. Out to Maiden Bradley, through the Deverills over Mere Down and on to Gillingham via Motcombe for a welcome coffee at an interesting new venue for the mighty BCC - the Newt. All agreed the fare was excellent, none more so than RM who unusually went straight to the pudding course but the sticky toffee didn’t weigh down his performance on the return route through Buckhorn Weston and Wincanton.

A good ride to burn off the excesses of Christmas and the New Year!
